Powys County Council Town Centre Loan Scheme
Powys County Council operates a town centre loan scheme funded by the Welsh Government. The loans are available for a wide range of projects in Llandrindod Wells, Newtown and Brecon – from brownfield site development to returning empty business/residential units back into use. The key aim of the scheme is to reduce the number of vacant, underutilised and redundant sites and premises within the Town Centre.
The interest free loans are available to residential and commercial property owners, repayable within five years. The loans will then be ‘recycled’ for use on other projects. This 15 year scheme will invigorate our towns and encourage investment in business units and affordable housing.
